December 30, Ethiopia:Truck Incident in Ethiopia kills 71 people plunging into the river. A vehicle travelling from Sidama state on Sunday, fell into the river after missing the bridge, through a local Reuters news agency.

Alot of pictures of the accident are circulated in X and Facebook where a group of people are attempting to pull out a damaged vehicle.

The reports say, the traffic police region reported the lorry was overloaded, which had caused the incident. The further investigations are in order they said. Out of the people known who have died 68 were men said the Sidamas Police Commission Traffic Prevention and Control Directorate said.

A lot of people in Ethiopia are killed every year due to road accidents. Many do not follow the traffic laws they say.
