2 Jan Friday, 2025: Jeff Bezos’s $500 million yacht, ‘Koru’ was searched by United States customs officials for an hour-long “routine” search on New Year’s Eve with his fiancee, Lauren Sanchez on board. Bezos’s fiancee Lauren Sanchez was on board the boat with friends, sunbathing when the search occurred. The search which lasted for three hours is considered as a routine procedure.
Lauren Snachez appeared unfazed by the inspection. She even posed and smiled for photos sunbathing on deck while officers continued their search. Although Jeff Bezos was not present on the yacht during the inspection his whereabouts are not specified at this time. Despite the unexpected intrusion, Sanchez seemed relaxed on the yacht posing for photos with a Versace bikini and wide-brimmed hat. The officials boarded the yacht in uniform, life jackets, and all their equipment.
The customs officers boarded the yacht near St. Bart’s popular celebrity holiday destination and were guided by a stewardess as they inspected the yacht. According to Page Six, a spokesperson from the customs did not respond to any queries, while Bezos’ representative couldn’t be reached.
Officials did not disturb the guests on board including, Laureen Sanchez’s ex-husband and best friend, Tony Gonzalez. Last Month, Bezos and Sanchez partied in Aspen, Colorado amid snow which sparked rumors of a $600 million lavish wedding.
Which Jeff Bezos denied in a post on X(formerly Twitter) stating that the reports were “completely false” He also cautioned people against being “gullible” to rumors and information as such. “Furthermore, this whole thing is completely false — none of this is happening. The old adage “don’t believe everything you read” is even more true today than it ever has been. Now lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful out there folks and don’t be gullible.” The post read.
