
December 3, Washington: The US Treasury Department blames China for its breached system meanwhile Beijing denies it. A Chinese state-sponsored hacker has breached the US Treasury Department in their well-designed computer system, where the workers’ access has been caught as well as some unclassified documents.
The department stated that a major breach in their characterized system has gotten some attention into their security system as well, also stated that the Treasury Department has been working with the FBI and multiple investigative agencies to investigate the impact. They said that the breach started in early December itself but they majorly thought of a tiny glitch in the system, then later realized a third-party access present, who were able to access the unclassified and private documents.
With the breach being able to access the department’s service security, and have been able to remotely access the department’s several workstations, and access the documents. The breach was alerted by the Georgia-based BeyondTrust on December 8 when they found suspicious activity.
The BBC reported, that the company first found suspicious activity on December 2 saying that the whole system had been hacked.
China meanwhile rejected all the claims made by the US, they said all these accusations are made merely without any proof and are a part of a smear attack, said the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Washington.
