
Abu Dhabi witnessed a grand start to Eid Al Adha 2025 as UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan offered prayers at the renowned Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The President was joined by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of UAE, and Minister of Presidential Affairs. The Eid celebrations mark the holiest of the two Eids for Muslims around the world, with special prayers and traditional rituals observed nationwide.
The day grew even more special in Dubai as two sets of parents welcomed newborn babies during the early hours of Eid Al Adha, adding joy to the festivities. Across the UAE, residents prepared for the celebrations with warmth and gratitude, embracing the spirit of togetherness despite the lingering heat.
In preparation for the celebrations, Abu Dhabi and other emirates are facilitating free parking and revised public transport timings to ease movement for residents and visitors.
Amidst the celebrations, Sharjah marked a milestone with the first grapes harvested ‘above the clouds’ under a new agricultural project. This initiative aims to green the rocky mountains of the region by planting over 4,500 trees including:
- Grapevines
- Olive trees
- Apple trees
- Pomegranate trees
