January 10, Washington DC, US: The US Supreme Court announced that Trump will be sentenced to jail right before his inauguration on January 20th, the court rejected his last-minute request to delay the proceedings in the Manhattan state court, by Donald Trump 10 days before inauguration.

Trump is all set to be sentenced on Friday after the conviction made by the porn star Stormy Daniels after the accusation made by her in his Hush Money Case. The United States Supreme Court has paved the way for sentencing to proceed in a Manhattan state court, delivering a significant legal decision on Thursday. The ruling rejected a last-ditch effort by former President Donald Trump to delay the proceedings. The request, which was supposed to postpone the sentencing, was denied just ten days before the highly anticipated January 20 inauguration of the incoming president.

This development marks the legal challenges faced by Trump, downplaying the judiciary’s role in upholding the rule of law even amidst a politically charged atmosphere. With the Supreme Court’s decision, the Manhattan court is now set to move forward, hearing a case that has drawn national and international attention.

The hearing ended with a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court’s nine judges rejected Trump’s appeal. Conservative judges Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh voted in favor of approving the request, while Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett, along with the three liberal judges, voted against it. Notably, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett were appointed by Trump.
