
December 28, Zhongzheng District: Taiwan’s Presidential Office runs a drill showing preparedness against assertive China. After the military escalations, by China, after the governmental agencies went beyond the armed forces the urgency of Chinese Taipei’s urgency in ensuring preparedness with Beijing being so assertive.
On Thursday evening Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te, stated the simulation, involving central and local government units and civil groups was mainly made to focus on testing cross-tensions between the countries. Lai said, ” We conducted a tabletop exercise to verify the level of preparedness of each government agency in responding to extreme scenarios, We believe that as long as the government and society are prepared, we can adequately respond to different threats-0 including natural disasters and authoritarian expansionism”.
The ruling communist party in China, considers Taiwan a part of it’s own territory despite having not ruled and believe that there will be eventually be a re-unification of both the countries.
In the past years the China has had a rise of their military activties, which has made Taiwan more secure of themself being a small nation, also the aircraft and navy operating around the island which is around Chinese Taipei.
Taiwan’s Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim and their presidential office secreytary-general Pan Men-an, and National Security Council secretary-general Joseph Wu and Taiwan’s interior Minister Liu Shyh-fang and a few officials led this exercise, which was reported by the CNN.
Liu Shyh-fang said the defense ministry positioned themselves pretty well for this operation to be conducted and said conducting table top exercises are crucial for everyone.
