The storm has brought hurricane winds to the UK and Ireland which are causing widespread disruption. On Saturday, the 25, the storm resulted in the first confirmed storm-related death in Ireland. A tree fell on a man’s car leading to his death. The intense storm has left over 600,000 homes and businesses without power and canceled more than 1,000 flights.
The Met Office has issued a rare red warning in Scotland. People are urged to stay indoors as the fierce weather poses a potential danger to life. Swift winds reached speeds of up to 114mp in Ireland leaving 1 million without power.
Utter Chaos and mess is expected to sustain through the weekend. Rail companies have made a warning that train services will be impacted on Saturday. Until 3pm on Saturday, for most of Scotland, a yellow wind warning is in place. Snow and ice warnings are in place for parts of the island.
An area of low pressure is expected to bring significant rain on Sunday. Up to 20 mm of rain is anticipated to fall in areas under yellow rain warning.
