January 10, Islamabad: Pakistan International Airlines resumes European flights after a 4-year ban. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft is poised for departure from Islamabad International Airport, marking a significant milestone as the airline resumes direct flights to Europe. This follows the EU (European Union)’s decision to lift a four-year ban on PIA operations within its airspace.
The inaugural flight is destined for Paris, symbolizing a critical step forward for Pakistan’s national carrier in re-establishing its presence in the European market and restoring passenger confidence through this field of aviation.
Pakistan International Airlines are headed to operate in Europe which was suspended in June 2020 over concerns about Pakistani authorities and its Civil Aviation Authority’s potential to ensure compliance with international aviation standards following the crash of its plane after a failed attempt to land in Karachi.
This was the first flight after the European Union’s suspension took off from Islamabad International Airport (IIAP) at 12:10 p.m., utilizing a Boeing 777 (AP-BGK) aircraft. The flight carried 330 passengers and 14 crew members.
