
The Indian Government has evacuated over 3,000 Indian nationals from Iran and Israel due to increasing tensions in West Asia. The operation, named ‘Operation Sindhu’, aims to help Indian citizens who wish to leave the region safely. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced that the evacuation will involve travel from Israel to India via land borders, followed by air travel.
So far, a special flight from Mashhad, Iran, has brought 292 Indians to New Delhi, increasing the total number of repatriated citizens from Iran to 2,295. Additionally, the Indian Air Force has deployed C-17 aircraft on missions to Jordan and Egypt to evacuate 594 Indian nationals from Israel. The Minister of State Dr. L. Murugan welcomed the returnees upon their arrival in the Indian capital.
This significant effort reflects the Indian Government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of its citizens amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. The operation continues as the government coordinates further evacuations in the volatile situation.
