
Namibia’s election results out, has her first female president. South West Africa People’s Organisation(SWAPO)’s governing representative Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has been announced as the first female president after a week’s dispute between the parties.
The commission stated, she had won over 57% of the vote, which stood out against her rival Panduleni Itula, with 26% votes. These logistic arguments went on for about 3 days in some parts of the state, Itula stated that the system is heavily flawed. Itula also took this to “Independent Patriots for Change(IPC)” intending to challenge the outcome through the judicial system.
All the opposition parties boycotted the results announcement in the capital even the newspapers, most citizens when asked said they had voted for a party of peace and victory. SWAPO led the struggle for nationhood against South Africa, in the last general elections, some questions were raised, about the whole state of the liberation parties of the region.
