Jan 18 Saturday 2025: The country of Italy pledged a significant financial investment worth €400 million that is aimed at providing solid support for Tunisia’s energy plans on Thursday. The core objective of this financial support is to help the country transition into energy and support the development and use of renewable energy sources.
This crucial investment was signed during a well-attended ceremony in the capital city of Rome, where both Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali Nafti signed the critical agreement. The new accord reached would triple Italy’s prior financial commitment from what was originally set up in the 2021-2023 period.
The ambitious plan focuses on the collaborative efforts between the two countries specifically in the energy sector, hence strengthening the relationship between the two countries. Moreover, it would give birth to a significant energy corridor connecting Northern Africa with Europe, thus paving the way for better energy flow and cooperation between the two parties.
