
India has successfully evacuated over 3,000 of its nationals from conflict-affected regions in West Asia, notably from Iran and Israel. This operation, named ‘Operation Sindhu’, was initiated by the Indian Government to safely bring back citizens wishing to leave amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.
A special flight from Mashhad, Iran, recently brought 292 Indians to New Delhi, boosting the total number of evacuees from Iran to 2,295. Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force has been actively involved, deploying C-17 aircraft for evacuation missions in Jordan and Egypt, which have successfully returned 594 Indians from Israel.
Minister of State Dr. L Murugan welcomed the returnees at Delhi airport, expressing relief and gratitude for their safe arrival.
