Elon Musk is nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

Jan 31, 2025, USA: Tesla CEO and Twitter owner Elon Musk has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by European Parliament member Branko Grims.

As of January 31, the nomination was made in recognition of his contributions to freedom of speech and human rights. Today the nomination has been successfully submitted to the Norwegian Nobel Committee. The nomination is attributed to Musk’s consistent support for the fundamental human right of freedom of speech.

The nomination was given by Branko Grims, a Slovenian politician and member of the European Parliament, who shared a screenshot of the confirmation email from the Norwegian Nobel Committee. The nomination recognizes him for his contributions to freedom of speech especially through his social media platform X where he has advocated for free speech.

Elon Musk has previously received many awards including the Edison Achievement Award, a Global Green Award, and being named Time’s Person of the Year in 2022.
