Vatsala, Asia’s oldest female elephant, has passed away at the Panna Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh, India. She was more than 100 years old and was lovingly known as Dadi Maa and Nani Maa during her long life. Vatsala had a significant presence, having lived in Kerala and later in Madhya Pradesh.
