Dec 18, London: A British court ruled on Wednesday that police can seize more than 2 million pounds equivalent to $2.5 million to compensate for years of unpaid taxes from not only Andrew Tate but his brother Tristan too. The Devon and Cornwall Police force were present in the court to claim the money as they held 7 frozen bank accounts, from the Tates and a woman identified only as J.
The chief magistrate at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court ruled that financial transactions by the 2 brothers, including the transfer of $12 million into an account in the name of J, were a “straightforward cheat” of the tax.
A Layer for the police said that the brothers were “serial” tax evaders who had failed to pay any tax over their 21 million pounds revenue from their online businesses like War Room, Hustlers’ University, Cobra Tate, and OnlyFans in the period from 2014 to 2022.
At a court hearing in July, attorney Sarah Clarke quoted from a video posted online by Andrew Tate which said: ” When I lived in England I refused to pay tax.” Another lawyer for the brothers, Martin Evans defended them saying that the bank transfers were “entirely orthodox” for people who run online businesses.
The brothers have a history of criminal allegations and bans. In this case, there is a lower standard of proof than in criminal cases as the proceedings are civil. Goldspring had to decide don’t he balance of possibilities whether the Tates have evaded tax.
