More nominations by Trump: Fierce Kari Lake as director of Voice of America broadcast

President-Elect Donald J. Trump nominated more candidates on the night of Wednesday to serve in various positions for this second term as the president of America. A major was the appointment of Kari Lake as the next director for the Voice of America Broadcast.

President-elect Donald Trump nominated a few more candidates on Wednesday night to serve in various positions during his second term. The woman who once called journalists “monsters” will be in charge of a federally funded news outlet, The Voice of America along with a huge global audience. He aims to put a fierce person loyal to authenticity who has not shied away from calling out journalists “monsters.” Mr. Trump said on Truth Social media saying Ms. Lake will “ensure that the American values of Freedom and Liberty are broadcast around the World FAIRLY and ACCURATELY, unlike the lies spread by the Fake News Media.

Kari Lake had lost her Senate race in Arizona, last month to Democrat Gallego. She was a longtime Arizona broadcaster. During his first team, he had chosen Michale Pack to lead the U.S. Agency for Global Media which overseas Voiceo America and other media owned by the government. Pack fired the leaders of some of the broadcast entities and installed Trump’s loyalists. A judge later ruled that he could not interfere in the editorial operations of VOA.

In 2022, Ms. Lake’s campaign for governor inclined towards her vitriol toward news outlets and journalists than on her criticisms from the Democratic party and her opponent. Calling journalists “monsters,” she pledges to be reporters’ “worst nightmares”. She also said “Let’s defend the press,” during her rally.

She is all set to be the head of an organization nearly $300 million budget and employee strength of more than 2,000 employees who will be broadcasting in about 50 languages to a weekly audience of more than 326 million people.

The Voice of America has a mission to counter propaganda and disinformation coming from authoritarian countries like China, Iran, and Russia. Trump also tapped Dr. Peter Lamelas, a physician, philanthropist, and businessman to be the next U.S. Ambassador to Argentina. H immigrated from Cuba and founded the state’s largest urgent care system, MD Now urgent care in Floridas
