Dubai recently experienced heavy rains that resulted in severe flooding across many areas. In response, a dedicated group of 49 community volunteers worked tirelessly at 77 locations to assist motorists affected by the floods. Their efforts included helping stranded drivers, clearing water from roads, and supporting official emergency response teams.
The floodwaters caused significant disruption, leading to numerous vehicles being damaged and a large number of number plates washing away. Thanks to the volunteers’ swift action:
- 30 cars were successfully recovered
- 279 number plates were returned to their owners
This initiative greatly alleviated the difficulties faced by residents during the aftermath of the floods.
The strong community spirit in Dubai was evident through this collaborative effort. These volunteers played a crucial role in mitigating the flood’s impact, demonstrating dedication that went beyond that of official emergency responders.
In addition, Dubai Police issued 720 certificates for vehicles damaged by the storms. These certificates assist vehicle owners with insurance claims and repair procedures, providing vital support in recovery efforts.
As the city slowly recovers, many cleaning services and car washes have reported a surge in demand. These businesses are fully booked, and workers are preparing for increased workloads as residents strive to clean and repair their homes and vehicles.
