Dubai is preparing for a grand New Year’s Eve 2026 celebration with extensive security measures and spectacular events. Officials announced that over 23,000 security personnel will be deployed, marking the most comprehensive security operation in the city’s history. The celebrations will feature 48 fireworks displays across 40 locations, lighting up the night sky and offering multiple viewing points for residents and tourists alike.
To ensure public safety, phased road closures will begin from 4 pm on New Year’s Eve. Key locations such as Sheikh Zayed Road and the Burj Khalifa metro station will be closed at specific times. Additionally, some pedestrian bridges will be inaccessible. Parking is prohibited on major arterial roads near celebration venues, but free shuttle buses will be available for easier transport.
Transportation and Medical Facilities:
- Dubai Metro will run non-stop for 43 hours during the festive period to ensure convenient travel for attendees.
- A fully equipped field hospital, including a dedicated pediatric section, has been set up near Burj Khalifa to assist with any emergencies.
For the first time, the Dubai Frame will host drone shows, adding a new dimension to the usual fireworks and live performances. Additionally, fourteen public parks will extend their operating hours until 1 am, providing comfortable viewing areas for families and visitors.
