Dubai is set to host an unmatched New Year’s Eve 2026 celebration, featuring an impressive lineup of festivities and stringent security measures. The city plans to light up the sky with 48 fireworks displays spread across 40 different locations.
Massive Security and Crowd Management
To ensure the safety of the large crowds expected, authorities will deploy over 23,000 security personnel. Several measures will be implemented to control the flow of visitors and traffic:
- Phased road closures beginning at 4 pm on December 31, 2025
- Key streets around Burj Khalifa and Sheikh Zayed Road will be affected
- Parking bans on major arterial roads near the celebration areas
Transportation Adjustments
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will operate Dubai Metro trains continuously for 43 hours to manage the increased demand. However:
- Burj Khalifa metro station and certain pedestrian bridges will close earlier than usual for crowd control
New and Extended Entertainment Options
For the first time, the Dubai Frame will showcase a spectacular drone show complementing the traditional fireworks. Other key features include:
- 14 public parks extending their hours until 1 am for family-friendly viewing
- Special New Year’s Eve show at Burj Park with immersive light, laser effects, and live performances
Tickets for the Burj Park event, priced at Dh997.50 each, are nearly sold out.
