April 28, 2025 – Yemen
The US forces have been conducting intense air bombardments on Sanaa and other regions. Houthi media reports a minimum of eight individuals, women, and children among them, were killed by a recent airstrike in northern Sanaa’s Bani al-Harith district. Attacks also occurred in the Amran and Saada provinces.
A detention centre has also been attacked in Saada, and according to Houthi media, numerous individuals were killed there. In total, as per Houthi reports, 228 individuals have been killed by US strikes since mid-March.
The US military (CENTCOM) clarified that it has carried out more than 800 strikes on Houthi fighters and leaders in Yemen since March 15. To them, the airstrikes will persist but will not release many of the details “for security reasons.” They would not comment on civilian casualties.
The US claims to be attacking the Houthis because they have been targeting vessels in the Red Sea and attacking Israel. The Houthis say they are doing this to aid Palestinians in Gaza.
One of the most lethal US attacks was on April 18, when a strike on Yemen’s Ras Isa fuel port killed at least 74 and injured 171.
The US is also ramping up pressure on Iran to negotiate a fresh nuclear agreement.
