The New York Post reported that Trump has spoken to Putin about bringing an end to the conflict in Ukraine, and Trump mentioned that Putin “wants to see people stop dying”
The newspaper reported that Trump has spoken to Putin about bringing an end to the conflict in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov in comments to TASS state news agency said he could not confirm or deny a conversation took place. He suggested he was unaware of any such phone conversation. Peskov also noted that as the administration in Washington expands its work, many different communications arise through various channels and he personally may not know everything that happens.

Peskov has previously denied reports of conversations between Mr.Trump and Mr. Putin in November 2024. He called them “pure fiction.” However, the recent reports and the Kremlin’s response indicate a shift in their stance, as they are now neither confirming nor denying the call.
